Mauritius has been ranked the most stable country in Africa in the 2025 Africa Country Instability Risk Index, achieving the lowest political and economic risk score on the continent.

The report highlights Mauritius’ strong governance framework, multi-party democratic system and resilient economy as key drivers of its stability. Countries scoring below 30 on the index are classified as “Safe,” and Mauritius recorded a score of 17, placing it firmly in the lowest-risk category.
